Buy Partisan

Your letter, or rather solicitation, arrived in our mailbox yesterday evening.  Your personal note on the envelope “XXXX, someone had to stand up to the bully in the White House,” Caught my attention.  What has peaked my curiosity is what on earth made you send this to me?

I am and have been a Republican who supports our President and the job he is doing.  While his manner and demeanor may be somewhat beyond the norm of what has been in the forefront of Washington – I am watching his actions.  I am also watching yours.

In the 3+ years President Trump has been in office, he has committed to building the wall to secure our borders; positioning us equally to share in the responsibility of protecting and defending other lands as well as our own; and standing up for our rights as exporters/importers of world goods. 

What I have yet to figure out is why it is so important to anyone in Washington to root for the failure of a sitting President?  Is it so important for you to prove you are right?  Do you literally not care about the American people at all?

The tit-for-tat behavior in Washington does not impress this American.  You claim you are standing up to the Bully but, in fact, you have become a bully yourself.  You tore up a document at the State of the Union “to make a point.”  You mailed a photo of yourself standing at a conference table pointing your finger at the President “to make a point.”  Point MADE!  You have no respect for the man or his position and have clearly none for your own.  You have become a cheerleader for the other side (and by other I mean negativity).  It is not a priority for you to protect America and everyone in it.  You want to speak for the downtrodden, the desperate, the immigrants who have not yet pledged their allegiance or earned their spot in our great country.  Rather, thanks to you, there is no spot for them to earn.  You prefer to hand over every entitlement to those who have literally just crossed the border with no regard for those who are keeping this country running while you do it. If the backbone of the labor force, the “essentials” as they have been so aptly named meant anything to you, the push would have been to assist them immediately rather than to use the opportunity to fund, yet again, those other pockets of interest you hold so dear.  Where I come from, that’s called riding someone’s coat tails!

If the information I found on the internet is correct, you earn roughly $223,500 as Speaker of the House.  Yes, together with your husband you have made investments that have made that figure pale by comparison – which means you are living the American dream.  But shame on you for exhibiting the utter lack of respect you have shown for your position.  This author can only deduce that the $223,500 at this point in your career is such a pittance you have little regard for it and who pays it to you. 

You complain about President Trumps demeanor?  You don’t like how he behaves on camera.  Lead by example.  Start worrying about your own behavior.  Believe it or not, every sitting President has had opposition.  There is always something we do not like about this one or that.  You get one vote – you cast that vote.  Then you get behind the President and help our country flourish.  You do not take every ounce of power and energy you have to cause dissension among the ranks and you certainly do not stand in the way or delay help to the American people.  You are not above it all.  None of us are!  And like it or not, you are not above the President.
