Pull the Curtain

The week of March 16^th, schools in the State of Alabama began suspending classes due to the COVID-19 outbreak.  We were told that this virus likely originated in the wet market of Wuhan, China due to unsanitary conditions.  We watched and listened and travel between China and the US became suspended; travel between Europe and the US became suspended and finally travel between the UK and US became suspended.  Coincidentally, we are also reading about a Harvard Professor who was arrested and charged with making false, fictitious and fraudulent statements. (is that even a charge?)  The actual statement from the US Dept of Justice website reads as follows:

The Department of Justice announced today that the Chair of Harvard University’s Chemistry and Chemical Biology Department and two Chinese nationals have been charged in connection with aiding the People’s Republic of China.  

Dr. Charles Lieber, 60, Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University, was arrested this morning and charged by criminal complaint with one count of making a materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statement.  Lieber will appear this afternoon before Magistrate Judge Marianne B. Bowler in federal court in Boston, Massachusetts.

Yanqing Ye, 29, a Chinese national, was charged in an indictment today with one count each of visa fraud, making false statements, acting as an agent of a foreign government and conspiracy. Ye is currently in China. 

Zaosong Zheng, 30, a Chinese national, was arrested on Dec. 10, 2019, at Boston’s Logan International Airport and charged by criminal complaint with attempting to smuggle 21 vials of biological research to China.  On Jan. 21, 2020, Zheng was indicted on one count of smuggling goods from the United States and one count of making false, fictitious or fraudulent statements.  He has been detained since Dec. 30, 2019. I am very out of my element when it comes to information of this nature. But, I have to wonder about the connection between these three individuals all being lumped into one announcement.

There are also multitude of YouTube videos also connecting the dots on this pandemic that lead people to conclude that the wet market of China was just the “front” for this virus and in reality there was something much larger going on that led to this crisis; that being the world-wide installation of 5G network equipment. What began as a 2-minute news segment at 6:00 pm about a virus in China is now a world-wide pandemic that has people in lockdown in their homes or documenting why they are not. 

There’s a scene in the movie, Charlie Wilson’s War, where Gust Avrakotos, a CIA agent is meeting with an Israeli operative and Charlie Wilson discussing how they can get weapons into the hands of the Afgan people to defend themselves against the Russian army.  In the midst of this exchange, he tells the Israeli,  “As long as the press sees sex and drugs behind the left hand you can park a battle carrier behind the right hand and no one’s gonna fucking notice.”

The facts are – We have gone from travel within the US being scaled back individually by people deciding where and for how long they want to be detained in their homes; toilet paper being worth almost more than gold; discussions on who and what jobs are considered essential; degrees of concern vs fear among the general population; and finally – the worst case scenarios; people dying, medical staff being completely exhausted and overwhelmed and the pubic (depending on their levels of exposure to the pandemic) reacting as they feel is accordingly.  People are losing their jobs; their income and quite frankly their faith, all at the same time.  That, my friends, has our better than ever economy looming on the verge of collapse.  If this were a basketball game, the coach would call a time-out and pull the team together and ask, “Ok, are we in this thing to win it or are we out?  I need everyone to give it their all.”  The entire country (for that matter – world) should be pulling together to turn the tables on this thing.  Instead, we are debating who is right, who is wrong, and throwing around disparaging remarks about incompetence and ulterior motives.  Folks, this is energy we no longer have to waste.

No one believes that this is going to last 30 days.  And I believe it is going to take all of us “ALL IN” to beat this.  What I don’t believe is that this started in a market! I am tired of referring to this as “an invisible enemy.”

If life as we now know it will consist of a daily update engaging all of the American people – I for one would like to be told the actual story of how this came about:  I don’t want the made for TV movie – please just tell me the truth.

What is the connection between the Harvard Professor who was arrested and held to this day along with two Chinese nationals  and the current events?

                What is the connection between the world-wide push to install 5G network equipment?

Tell us that.  Update us about that.  Pull the curtain and expose the wizard.  You want everyone ALL IN?  Let us know exactly what/who we are up against.  Then hold my beer!
